About The Artwork

Core of the Soul 3 is created using a personal technique of scratch marks and swirling gestures, carved and swept into acrylic on unstretched canvas to evoke a sense of digging beneath the surface. Each line and curve suggests movement toward the core essence—a journey inward rather than outward.

The dynamic swirls carry the feeling of life and motion, echoing the subtle, continuous flow of the soul’s energy. This energy is not abstract for me; it is deeply devotional—a visual meditation on the soul’s relationship with the Divine, shaped by the longing, surrender, and love that live in bhakti practice. The marks become like repeated prayers, turning the surface into a quiet, contemplative field.

Rather than depicting a literal scene, the piece invites the viewer into an inner landscape where tension, release, and gentle remembrance of the Divine coexist. The raw, unstretched canvas keeps the work immediate and intimate, emphasizing touch, process, and presence—much like a personal offering laid bare before the sacred.

This artwork is shipped rolled in a tube, ready for you to stretch or frame according to your own space and vision.

About The Artist
Zigguratss

Rewa Walia - Christchurch, New Zealand

My work is a meditation on the ecstatic pain of spiritual separation, the richness of cultural heritage, and the transformative power of love. I believe that art can be both a personal sanctuary and a catalyst for dialogue—bridging worlds, generations, and hearts. In my practice, separation from the divine is not simply sorrowful, but a profound, transformative ecstasy.
