ABOUT THE ARTIST

It is said, art tends to transcend reality and meaning itself if provoked. Whenever I am asked, what art is to me, why I make art, and what is the purpose and meaning behind my works, I give a very lame, knee-jerk, and unsatisfactory response. "It's all me, just in different forms", but the truth is I myself sometimes do not know what the meaning behind them is in actuality, I use my works as a means to empty my mind of all the thoughts I have. I choose to paint in such an aspect as if I were capturing visions and dreams.

My intent as an artist or the purpose of my work isn't just to illustrate or manifest other humans and sceneries but also my mind. They represent my thoughts, experiences, infatuations, fantasies, fears, or just plain things I long for but are simply unachievable for me in real life. My ideas and Subjects are derived from what I have observed and experienced up to this point, as well as what I will in the future. My inspirations can come from anywhere, whether from my experiences in real life or in my dreams and visions. One can be inspired or interested by anything when it comes to subjects and ideas. For example, the conflicts happening in Eastern Europe between Ukraine and Russia. My cat and me looking outside the balcony door or me getting involved in an unnecessary fight which somehow might have emotionally jolted me. ldeas and subject matter can be taken from everywhere and anywhere. It doesn't always need to have a well-thought-out meaning in my opinion, if it makes you emotionally Connect with itself, its purpose is done.

I believe that dreams are the result of free association. My creations are usually made or concocted in a similar way. My psychical anatomy might be interpreted to some extent by it, but I am not sure. All of what we see in the World around us, the conversations we are having via these texts, or even this world itself, all of this will one day be nothing, We will one day become nothingness itself. The human condition forces us to accept this. Such is the fate of mankind. We are destined to die and be nothing, A fear we all share. These two are the most feared of all fears. Death is we cannot avoid but nothingness, we must do something about that, we can't be on a standby mode for nothingness, like the existentialists used to say. I believe we live in a false reality.

To give meaning is to limit.
